Solar Court Coven is an American Folkloric Witchcraft neo-tradition with influences of Thelema. Established in 2017, we are an initiatory tradition centered around empowerment, individuality, and arcane wisdom. We venerate the Dark Goddess and embody Left-Hand Path philosophies. We believe in igniting the Black Flame within our witches and seeking to be of service to our community. Honoring celestial cycles of the cosmos and earth as well as observing ceremonial ritual is at the heart of our coven’s practice.

What are the 5 power of Stella Magi?

To Know – this is our first power which represents our continued efforts to better understand ourselves both internally and externally as well our life long commitment to understanding the mysteries of the craft. To know oneself and to know thy craft.
To Will – this is our second power which represents the alignment of our 3 souls and our desire to manifest and manipulate our reality.
To Dare – This is our third power and it represents our driving force in the craft, it is our call to action.
To Keep Silent – this is our 4th power and it represents keeping what is sacred shrouded.
To Go – this is our 5th and optional power a witch may invoke which represents to teach the mysteries to the initiates. Coven lines survive by propagation and holding the powers of the stella magi.

Why the name Solar Court?

Our coven trad is called Solar Court because we are centered around the solar holy days and the ceremonial celebrations of those mysteries. The “Court” is present because we exalt all stella magi within our tradition of Solar Sovereignty.

What is a degree system?

A degree system is the ranks within our tradition. Our coven trad is built by first, second, and third degrees. First degrees are initiated members and stella magi. Second degree is the priesthood of the stella magi. Third degree rank is that of HP leading a SCC.

What is initiatory witchcraft?

Initiatory Witchcraft is a closed practice, as the mysteries are reserved for those who have been initiated into the trad. Those who are initiated continue the development of the neo living tradition through rites and ceremonies. It is not an ethno religion but the religion of the craft itself.

What does deity look like in the tradition?

The priesthood of our trad are devotees of the dark mother current. This means being devoted to the dark moon and the mysteries of it as well as a working relationship with the witches devil. We believe in being embodiments of the divine incarnate. This is represented in the symbolism of our trad line via the horned moon.

What do I need to do to join?

To become a first degree witch within our tradition you must:

Be invited to an SCC function by an initiated member as our events are not public
Attend at least 2 or more SCC sanctioned events
Earn the favor of 2 or more initiated members
State interest to petition to the HP after being offered
Have Petitioning granted and make it through the trials of initiation.

Becoming 1st degree typically takes a minimum of 1 year. 2nd and 3rd degree details are kept to initiated members only, but all 1st degrees will have opportunity to ascend within the trad ranks if that is in their will to do so.
